Named the Rising Star by the Southeast Missouri REALTORS Board in 2024, Main Key Realty realtor Johniqua Fort works with people at every step of the homebuying or selling process to help them accomplish their dream. It’s an honor she doesn’t take lightly.

“Coming from humble beginnings, I’ve always adored houses and homes,” Johniqua says. “I am a realtor to help people achieve things they thought they would never achieve, because I’ve felt like that.”

Johniqua earned her realtor’s license in 2023. She prioritizes listening to clients and making personal connections to ensure they love every aspect of the home they invest in.

“I love to see women chasing down their goals and dreams and achieving them,” Johniqua says. “If I can help as many women do that with buying or selling their home, that would be my pleasure.”

Outside of work, Johniqua loves to travel and hike local trails with her daughters. This summer, she coached her daughter’s basketball team for the first time and found great purpose in helping to mould young people through it.

Johniqua encourages people to go for their dreams — whether it’s buying a home or something else.

“With anything in life, it’s important to go after what you want, because you’re not going to be happy until you do — no matter how hard it may be, because it is hard,” Johniqua says. “And no matter how many people tell you that it’s probably not the best idea, if God has put it in you to want to do this, do it.”
