Though I may be slightly biased, it is always important to remember libraries and the important roles that they play both in our lives and in our communities. Here are a few titles both fiction and nonfiction that put a fun spin on libraries and their roles.
Librarian Tales by William Ottens is a book of true stories from Ottens’s life as a public librarian. Presented are some instances of the good, the bad, the ugly, and the whimsical. Life in the library is never dull and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Deal with the Devil by Kit Rocha is a fun science fiction tale about mercenary librarians who use their knowledge and information to save the people of America!
I work at a Public Library by Gina Sheridan is another entertaining nonfiction book cataloging the life of a librarian and the many things she experiences from day to day within the stacks.
The Library at the Edge of the World by Felicity Hayes-McCoy is a charming book that follows Irish librarian Hannah Casey on her journey to reclaim her independence, save the library where she works, and maybe heal her broken heart along the way.
