For Our Sisters: Carol Olivarez and Amy Norris

I’m the oldest of three and have two brothers; when I was younger, I didn’t feel the need for a sister. But the older you get, the more you need to have a strong female relationship in your life. That’s what I get from Amy — she’s the sister I never knew I was gonna need. — Carol Olivarez

We met when we were teenagers working at Hardee’s on William Street in Cape. Life gets busy, but we always make time for each other. And when we get together, we just pick up where we left off. To have a long friendship is really special. We have been close through so much — births and deaths and marriages and divorce, kids growing up. Having someone to share all these life experiences with means a lot to me. She teaches me to value myself. To go after what I want. — Amy Norris
